Michael Levin has mastered minimalism. His images are clean, unobstructed, and full of texture. It is admirable that an emotional context can still be deeply expressed when all non-essential elements have been stripped from view. But this is exactly what Michael has done. His highly contrasted works do not abuse the extremes of light and dark to force the subject matter onto the viewer. Michael, instead, skillfully uses texture and exposure to create an environment where the subject is given emotion and life.
