There is nothing I can say about Fred Herzog’s work that would be worthy of his talent. From the 1950′s to this day, Fred’s work has stood the test of time and continues to be some of the best street photography this country has ever witnessed.
Anyone who is interested in some of the finest work in capturing the everyday life of this country would do well to take the time to view his galleries. And, for our readers who are aspiring street photographers, time spent studying Fred’s work would be an education no school could provide.
We, at CPO, would have loved to interview Fred, but our requests to the gallery representing him were not returned. It is a shame as we are fans of his work and feel he deserves as much attention as possible. But, with hope, we will keep our fingers crossed for such an interview in the future.
We also want to congratulate Fred on his nomination for the Scotiabank prize. We can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award.
So, without drawing out this any further, as these words are far from eloquent, you can see Fred’s work HERE
